The Annual Plant Sale and BBQ Lunch will be held May 23rd, 2013 in front of Boundary Trails Health Centre. Funds raised will go towards planting flowers all around the BTHC grounds for all the enjoy!

Annual Golf Tournament

Our 13th annual Golf tournament will be August 15th, 2013 at the Winkler Golf Course. You may choose to sponsor a hole or enter a team. For more information please contact the BTHC Foundation office at 204-331-8808.

Registration will begin at 10:30 am. Smokie and a drink provided at 11:00 am. Shotgun start at 12:00 pm sharp! Dinner, program & prizes begin at 6:30 pm.

There will be a rainbow auction which is always exciting and enjoyed by all!

Annual Bake Sale

The Annual Bake Sale held Friday, May 3rd at the BTHC had another successful year! THANK YOU to all who donated many delicious baked goods and the variety of outdoor items that were part of the rainbow auction. Thank you to all the wonderful Palliative Care Volunteers that spent many hours ensuring everything went so smoothly. See you again next year!

Miles for Smiles

BTHC Foundation is very pleased with the outcome for the Miles for Smiles fundraising event that took place May 11th, 2013. The 80+ participants raised over $18,000! One person who prefers to stay anonymous raised approximately $8000!! We THANK YOU ALL for your support. All funds raised go towards the Palliative Care program at BTHC & Equipment needed around the hospital. Our most recent purchase being a portable ultrasound machine used in our cancer care, ER, OR, and obstetrics to name a few.

It was a 4, 6, 10km FUN Run, Walk, Bike or Skate event for all ages and we did have people of all ages come out that chilly morning ready and willing. Once they got moving they warmed up quickly. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you and many more next year!

Celebrating 25 Years of Palliative Care

On, October 26th, 2012 we had our annual fundraising banquet. The evening consisted of how Palliative Care got started in Winkler and Morden separately, and how the two blended once Boundary Trails opened in 2001. We honored the 25th anniversary

Corny Rempel - Elvis Impersonator

of Palliative Care’s existence in our region as well as the volunteer co-ordinators who have served over the years, making our program a huge success. For the enjoyment and entertainment, a delicious roast beef dinner was served followed by Corny Rempel, Elvis impersonator serving up some fun afterward.

Thank you to all who joined us in this worthy cause of supporting the BTHC Foundation’s annual fundraising dinner .

Support Boundary Trails Health Centre Palliative Care by purchasing tickets for our fundraising raffle! For only $2 you get a chance to win one of three fabulous prizes! We have two beautiful quilts donated by our local quilting ladies – Barnswallow Quilters, as well as a gorgeous and intricate tablecloth donated by Anne Holenski. The prizes are available for viewing at BTHC in the display case across from the Foundation Office. Tickets go on sale February 22nd and are available until March 30th! The draw will be made at our Country Classics Fundraising Concert the evening of March 30th. The Foundation Board and Staff wish to thank these awesome ladies for their very generous donations – And thanks to all of the wonderful people in our communities that support BTHC programs!

An evening of country classics! Join us on March 30, 2012 at PW Enns Concert Hall in Winkler for a fun evening of Country Classic music! Tickets are on sale now - Get them online at www.winklerconcerthall.ca and support Palliative Care in our region. Enjoy an evening of country classics from a wide variety of local performers including Ed Penner, Raymond Klassen, Mark Fehr, Jeff Wiebe, Neil Kehler, Warren Giesbrecht, Calvin Klassen, John Krahn, Nettie Nickel, Rockford Penner, Danny Redecop and Jon Penner. Our annual Palliative Care raffle tickets will also be available at the Foundation office starting February 22nd. The beautiful quilts were donated by Barnswallow Quilters and our lovely table cloth was donated by Anne Holenski. Prizes can be seen in our display case at BTHC across from the foundation office. Tickets are $2 each and all proceeds go to Palliative Care at BTHC. Thank you for your support!

Breakfast with Santa

BTHC’s Breakfast with Santa was a great success on December 10! Thanks to our sponsors and volunteer elves & Santa we had a great morning. Families joined us for a morning of fun including stories, crafts, photos with Santa and of course, breakfast. Everyone who attended was treated to a free Christmas movie at Southland Cinemas. The morning also included a bake sale, silent auction and raffle, which continued at BTHC. Throughout the continued Christmas awareness campaign, tickets were sold for the 5 beautiful gingerbread houses as well as for the TV/DVD raffle. Tickets were drawn for the gingerbread houses on December 15th with five lucky ladies winning: Mary Stirling, Lori Turcan, Marion Dudgeon, Pat Wanklin and Nettie Hildebrandt – Congratulations ladies! The raffle went to the “guys side” on December 21st, with lucky winner Vic Klyne claiming the prize. Special thanks to Grace Gibbs and her students who created the fantastic gingerbread houses, and to our fantastic student elves & Santa, as well as the many other volunteers and businesses who made Breakfast with Santa a great event!

Christmas is a time when the memories of someone we have loved and lost are more real. We would like to give you the opportunity to pay tribute to that special someone who is no longer with us.

In November/December look for our Memory Trees in the BTHC foyer as well as Winkler and Morden Coops. We invite you to make a $2 donation to our Palliative Care Program in memory of your loved one which will enable you to place a memory dove on the Memory Tree.
