Support Boundary Trails Health Centre Palliative Care by purchasing tickets for our fundraising raffle! For only $2 you get a chance to win one of three fabulous prizes! We have two beautiful quilts donated by our local quilting ladies – Barnswallow Quilters, as well as a gorgeous and intricate tablecloth donated by Anne Holenski. The prizes are available for viewing at BTHC in the display case across from the Foundation Office. Tickets go on sale February 22nd and are available until March 30th! The draw will be made at our Country Classics Fundraising Concert the evening of March 30th. An evening of country classics! Join us on March 30, 2012 at PW Enns Concert Hall in Winkler for a fun evening of Country Classic music! Tickets are on sale now - Get them online at www.winklerconcerthall.ca and support Palliative Care in our region. Enjoy an evening of country classics from a wide variety of local performers including Ed Penner, Raymond Klassen, Mark Fehr, Jeff Wiebe, Neil Kehler, Warren Giesbrecht, Calvin Klassen, John Krahn, Nettie Nickel, Rockford Penner, Danny Redecop and Jon Penner. Our annual Palliative Care raffle tickets will also be available at the Foundation office starting February 22nd. The beautiful quilts were donated by Barnswallow Quilters and our lovely table cloth was donated by Anne Holenski. Prizes can be seen in our display case at BTHC across from the foundation office. Tickets are $2 each and all proceeds go to Palliative Care at BTHC. Thank you for your support!

Breakfast with Santa

BTHC’s Breakfast with Santa was a great success on December 10! Thanks to our sponsors and volunteer elves & Santa we had a great morning. Families joined us for a morning of fun including stories, crafts, photos with Santa and of course, breakfast. Everyone who attended was treated to a free Christmas movie at Southland Cinemas. The morning also included a bake sale, silent auction and raffle, which continued at BTHC. Throughout the continued Christmas awareness campaign, tickets were sold for the 5 beautiful gingerbread houses as well as for the TV/DVD raffle. Tickets were drawn for the gingerbread houses on December 15th with five lucky ladies winning: Mary Stirling, Lori Turcan, Marion Dudgeon, Pat Wanklin and Nettie Hildebrandt – Congratulations ladies! The raffle went to the “guys side” on December 21st, with lucky winner Vic Klyne claiming the prize. Special thanks to Grace Gibbs and her students who created the fantastic gingerbread houses, and to our fantastic student elves & Santa, as well as the many other volunteers and businesses who made Breakfast with Santa a great event!

Our thanks to Olympic Gold Medalist Jon Montgomery for being our guest speaker at this years BTHC Foundation Annual Fundraising Banquet with our theme “Dreaming Big”.

The banquet took place at the Morden Access Event Centre on September 24, 2011. The evening included dinner, a small auction led by Jon himself, and a presentation from Jon Montgomery.

BTHC FOUNDATION DREAMING BIG

The Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation Board of Directors has been discussing the need for expansion at Boundary Trails Health Centre. With the communities growth, we know that expansion is in the future. It is our hopes that we can team up with the RHA one day to make this a reality. We realize that this process could take years, but we are ready to begin the fundraising now, with the “Building For The Future” Campaign. All proceeds from this years banquet will be going towards future expansion.

ABOUT JON

Jon Montgomery knows all about dreaming big and he has a story to tell.

Just over one year ago, no one knew the name “Jon Montgomery”. Six years ago he quietly began his journey into the world of Skeleton with hopes of competing in the 2010 Olympics. On February 19, 2010, his dreams became a reality when he took home gold for Canada. This young man from Russell, MB., stole the hearts of not only Canadians, but of the world, with his fun-loving nature and passion for success. Oprah was just the beginning of the whirl-wind to follow.

Since winning Gold, Jon’s life has been busy. From taking part in the Juno’s to spending the summer recording a Discovery Channel special entitled Best. Trip. Ever. Flying with the Snowbirds in B.C. and cage diving with Great White sharks in South Africa. He even had time to propose to fellow Olympian Darla Deschamps amongst it all. He has been travelling the world competing and training and hopes to take home another Gold in 2014 in Sochi.

Lemonade for Love – July 2011

Thank you to all the Lemonade for Love kids that came together to raise $369.10 (so far). Some kids are still out selling Lemonade so make sure and stop by and buy some to support the kids.

The funds raised will go towards purchasing new furniture and toys for Occupational Therapy.

What is Lemonade for Love?

 Children met Tuesday mornings for 3 weeks. They learned about helping others and being involved in the community in a fun and educational atmosphere.

 Children learned what BTHC does as the hospital that helps the people of Southern Manitoba. They were taught about different programs such as Dialysis, Chemotherapy, and Rehabilitation.

 Children were encouraged to raise funds for BTHC with lemonade stands throughout the month of July.
