Audiology

The audiologist provides hearing assessments and, together with other professionals, designs and implements programs of auditory rehabilitation.  Since hearing loss is very common almost all of the people seen are from the community.  Referrals come from various sources, such as physicians, parents, schools and speech-language pathologists.  Priority is given to children (including babies) and adults with special concerns, such as upcoming ear surgery.  The audiologist also participates in pre-school wellness screenings.
