All ten chairs in the BTHC Cancer Care unit recently received an upgrade, thanks to a thoughtful request from local resident Emily Bennett and the generous support of the Morden Community Thrift Shop.
During her own cancer treatments in Winnipeg, Emily experienced the comfort of heated chairs firsthand. Wanting to bring that same comfort to patients in her home community, she partnered with BTHC to submit a proposal to the Foundation, requesting that the chairs in Cancer Care be replaced with heated, massage chairs.
With a $45,000 grant from the Morden Thrift Store, the Foundation was able to make this request a reality. Earlier this month, the new chairs arrived at BTHC. With roughly 200 treatments taking place each month, these chairs are already making a difference, providing warmth and relief during difficult moments. Exactly what Emily hoped for. Thank you Emily for your remarkable compassion, and thank you to the Morden Thrift Store community for your unwavering support. The Foundation is honoured to work with you.
