Together, we can bring the healthcare our community needs closer to home
For years, our communities have been asking and advocating for the expansion of Boundary Trails Health Centre to better serve our families with more diagnostic treatment and healthcare services close to home.
Now, a partnership between the Regional Health Authority (Southern Health-Santé Sud) and BTHC Foundation will expand Boundary Trails Health Centre to meet our community’s health and wellness needs, from birth to end-of-life.
The $100-million project will be completed in phases, with Phase 1 slated to begin in 2023. Within a few years, our community will have its expanded and revitalized health centre campus.
BTHC Foundation has agreed to contribute $10 million to ensure the expansion will meet our community’s needs.
With your investment, we can create a Boundary Trails Health Centre that will serve you, your family, and your community for a long time to come.
When the expansion is completed for our community, you’ll see the following:
- A new, state-of-the-art operating room
- An expanded Emergency Department
- The Cancer Care unit doubled in size
- Twenty-four additional inpatient beds to accommodate our growing population
- A level-2 nursery for newborns who are premature or have complex feeding needs, relieving the stress on families who currently must travel to Winnipeg or Brandon for this level of care
- Dedicated space and increased capacity for palliative care services allow patients nearing the end of their lives to stay close to their loved ones
- An expanded ambulatory care clinic where more outpatients can be diagnosed, observed, and treated
- Child and youth rehabilitation services are amalgamated at one location, so families don’t have to take their children to various locations around the community
- An echocardiography suite where over 1,600 scans can be done every year
- A new and advanced hospital pharmacy to process life-saving chemotherapy and other treatments on site
- An enhanced clinical teaching unit to maintain accreditation status for the Rural Residency Program—a mainstay of our hospital and a critical investment to ensure our community has ongoing access to physicians
- Spaces for convenient amenities for patients and families, such as commercial food service, a retail pharmacy, home-care supplies, and therapy providers
- Centralized public health, education, and home care services
